How To Make A Punching Bag Stand At Home
Step 1
Cut six pieces of wood 4 x 4 feet (1.2 by 1.2 meters) and 7 feet (2.1 meters) long with a circular saw. Next, cut four pieces of wood 2 x 4 feet (0.6 by 1.2 meters) in length that is 6 feet (1.8 meters) long.
Step 2
Place the two pieces cut 4 by 4 so that they are flat against the floor, parallel to each other and 6 feet (1.8 meters) apart. Place another 4 by 4 piece between the first two pieces. The new 4 by 4 should not be centered between the others but should be 2 feet (0.6 meters) away from the left 4 by 4.
Step 3
Apply carpenter glue on top of each 4 by 4 wood and put one of the 6 feet (1.8 meters) 2 by 4 on top of the 4 by 4 kinds of wood. The wide side of the 2 by 4 must be pressed into the glue. Glue the other 2 by 4 wood to the bottom of the 4 by 4 in the same way you attached the first 2 by 4.
Step 4
Let the glue dry for 1 or 2 hours. Drill through the 2 by 4 wood into each of the 4 by 4 heads with an electric drill. Secure the 4 by 4 wood in the 2 by 4 wood with screws, in addition to the tail. This is one of the sides of the frame.
Step 5
Make another frame in the same way as the first. Stand both frames until they are facing each other. They should stand up so that the middle of 4 by 4 of each frame is closer to you than the wall.
Step 6
Connect the two frames together. Position the frames so that the corners near the wall are next to each other. Install a piano hinge vertically between the two 4 by 4 frames to connect them. The hinge should be approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and should run along with the wood 4 by 4.
Step 7
Put braces on the corners of each frame for additional support. Cut 8 pieces of 2 by 4 that fit diagonally at the corners of the frame. Place a diagonal clamp over a corner of the frame and the screw in place. Do the same with the rest of the corners of the frame.
Step 8
Using a measuring tape, measure the horizontal distance between the center of 4 by 4 and cut two pieces of 2 by 6 to this length. Glue the 2 by 6 kinds of wood together on the wide side and drill a hole in the wide side of the wood in the middle. Place the harness of your punching bag through this hole.
Step 9
Open the frame so that it has an angle of 90 degrees. Lift the wood 2 by 6 at the top of the frame and the line to its end with the edge of the top of the frame. Install the bolts through the ends of the 2 by 6 wood and the 2 by 4 wood at the top of the frame.
